What you will receive:
Think on the spot and learn how to be a more impulsive actor with our Studio Improv classes! Each class will present new and exciting challenges that will require you to think on your feet and build exciting moments with your fellow actors. The class will end in a final Studio Improv Showcase where you will show off all the new skills you’ve learned during your time in class.

Breakdown:
Improvisation Techniques: Learn core improv skills like active listening, saying “yes, and…,” building characters, and creating scenes.
Collaborative Scenes: Work in pairs and groups to build spontaneous, unscripted scenes with your classmates.
Creative Challenges: Tackle new exercises each week that stretch your imagination, spontaneity, and storytelling.
Supportive Feedback: Receive positive, constructive insights from your instructor and peers to help you grow.
Final Showcase: Show off your new skills in a fun, low-pressure performance for friends and family.
Meet Your Instructor
Kara Cantrell she/her
Kara Cantrell is an actress, improviser, director, producer, and theatre educator. She holds an MFA in acting from the University of Georgia, a BFA in acting from Western Kentucky University, and is a Certified Teacher of the Michael Chekhov Technique of acting via the National Michael Chekhov Association. She has appeared on stage with Stage Door Players, Theatre in the Square, Actor's Express, Synchronicity Theatre, Aurora Theatre, Jewish Theatre of the South, Arís Theatre, and Impulse Repertory Co. She has appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Logan Lucky, and Allegiant as well as national commercial spots, and several industrials. Kara has taught acting and performance studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Georgia, Georgia Perimeter College, and Kennesaw State University.
